The Canadian Multicultural Hockey is proud to welcome a new community to our championships in 2011. Ice hockey is not foreign in South Africa as a national team has been part of the Interntional Ice Hockey Federation since 1937 and is currently ranked 40th in the world. The Iceboks will make their inaugural debut in the Heritage Division facing off against teams such as the 2 time champions Portuguese Sea Wolves, Ukrainian Kozaks and the new Punjabi Warriors.

Nubian GM Honoured with Award
Noel Morgan, General Manager of the Nubian Kings is honoured with the Peter Zezel Memorial Award in 2010. The award goes to the General Manager who provides committment and dedication to the Canadian Multicultural Hockey Championships.

Mansoon make 2010 debut
The Indian Monsoon (Orange and Green) made their debut in 2010. Although they did not make it to the playoff rounds, they proved to be a formidable team. Watch out for them next year!

Tate to Run Hockey Ops
Tate Phillips of Gator Pro-Skills Hockey has been assigned as the Director of Hockey Operations for the 2011 Championships. Tate will be responsible for all hockey related matters including checking all rosters for illegal players.
CMHL Quick Hits
The CMHL broke away from the two man referee system in the preliminaries for the Premier division. The new three man officiating team (2 referees and 1 linesman) proved to be not only favourites among the players, but the fans as well. We are pleased to announce that we are continuing with this system for the 2011 Championships.
Korean Tigers lose a great leader
1978-2011 CMHL mourns the loss of Victory Seung. Our deepest sympathies go to his family, friends and the Korean Tigers Hockey Team.
Women's Division Tougher than Ever!
CMHL would like to welcome back the Israeli Maccabees to the Women's Championship. The former champions were not able to partipate in 2010 and hope to regain the title in 2011. And a warm welcome to the Six Nations women who are entering a team this year. Exciting games for sure!
